Please note: Due to the anticipated attendance at this meeting, it will be held in the theater space at the Barrow mansion instead of the front parlor. Please leave ample time to find parking if you plan to drive.

Dear Neighbors,

If these are the Dog Days of Summer then I feel really sorry for the dogs.  But what about the rest of us? 

In case you wondered Dog Days occur from July 3 to August 11.  Ancient sky watchers noticed that the brightest star, Sirius the Dog Star, rose just before dawn.  They believed that this period was a time of drought, disease, and unrest.  Apparently, some things never change.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac editors suggest indulging in a tall glass of Dog Days Iced Tea which consists of black tea, orange juice, mint, and sugar.  The VVNA has requested that the fountain in the park become an adult splash pad where you can cool off and indulge in a frosty glass of tea.  Our devoted Board of Directors will be happy to serve you. Please tip generously.  Unfortunately, there is no towel service so bring your own.

Be good to yourselves!  Take a walk, visit the library, treat yourself to an icy beverage, and sit in the park.  And try to remember how cold this last winter was.

VVNA Board of Directors Elections this November!

The VVNA Board of Directors is made up of 7 to 9 positions:
President
1st Vice President
2nd Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
2 Elected Directors
Up to 2 Appointed Directors (not elected positions)

This November, we’ll be holding elections for the next 2-yr term for all 7 elected positions. 5 current board members will be running again for another term. To be eligible to be nominated, you must live within the neighborhood boundary and have attended 3 general meetings in the previous year, so if you’re interested, there is still time to attend additional meetings!
