Dear Neighbors, As many of you know, our friend Angelo Estrada recently passed away. He had been involved with the VVNA for decades, most recently serving as our First Vice President. Our community became his family. He was at every event, had great stories to share, and knew everyone. His energy and commitment were amazing. As an educator he served most recently as an adjunct professor at St. Peter’s University. There will be a memorial service for him at St. Matthew's in April and we plan to have a celebration of his life in Van Vorst Park when the weather is warmer. He had a favorite bench near the corner of Barrow and Montgomery and we would like to put a plaque there in his memory. Angelo was involved in the St. Matthews’s Food Pantry from its inception. In association with Council Member Eleana Little's office and Council Member Frank Gilmore’s office, we will be doing a neighborhood cleanup on Saturday, March 28 at the corner of Jersey & York.
