Dear Neighbors,

A friend informed me that when Mother Nature orchestrates sleet to fall on snow the result is called “Snow-Crete”.  (Nature’s form of concrete.)

I have a feeling that most of us decided not to move our cars during the past 2 weeks.  Outside of the incomprehensible task of digging them out  I suspect we feared that if we moved them  the nearest parking spot would be Bayonne.  Or Trenton.

Thank you for shoveling your sidewalks & crosswalks and making our neighborhood more accessible.

The VVNA Board had a very productive planning meeting this week.  We have an ambitious and exciting agenda for the year, including new events and street safety improvements. More to come as planning continues.

Street Safety: What You Can Do Today

See Click Fix:

Submit Pedestrian Safety Requests through See Click Fix! Visit the Resident Response Center, or submit a request HERE. These requests go straight to city employees responsible for responding to them. The more requests we submit on the public record, the more pressure we can place on city officials to make real change. The city keeps track of how many requests are submitted on each issue/intersection, so please keep up the pressure!

Street Safety Committee:

The VVNA has created a new committee focused on community-driven, proactive & preventative street safety. This committee will gather community feedback on dangerous intersections, propose solutions, and hold city hall officials accountable to real and meaningful change. Do you have feedback or questions for the committee? Email us at streetsafety@vvnajc.org and keep an eye out for future volunteer opportunities (coming soon!)
